Manage your greenhouse gas emissions and reduce your organisation’s carbon footprint with GHG emissions testing.
Key Benefits of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Testing
- Testing for GHG emissions allows you to take steps to reduce your environmental impact
- Monitoring and taking steps to reduce GHG emissions will often reduce co-emitted air pollutants which damage human health (e.g. fine particulate matter)
- GHG emissions testing can help you remain compliant to legislation; Large UK businesses must disclose their greenhouse gas emissions. This is required by the Companies (Directors’ Report) and Limited Liability Partnerships (Energy and Carbon Report) Regulations 2018
What is Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Testing?
Envirocare can sample the following Greenhouse Gases:
- Carbon dioxide (CO2)
- Methane (CH4)
- Nitrous oxide (N2O)
- Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs)
- Nitrogen trifluoride (NF3)
- Sulphur hexafluoride (SF6)
- Perfluorocarbons (PFCs)
These are often referred to as the “Kyoto 7”, referring to the international treaty which committed UN state parties to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The Kyoto Protocol has since been replaced and improved upon by the Paris Climate Agreement, however these “Kyoto 7” are critically important and are monitored and reported on in the National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory (Overview of Greenhouse Gases).
The global warming potential (GWP) of each gas is important when considering emissions from a plant.
We can also sample for other indirect GHGs such as Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Carbon monoxide (CO), Non-methane volatile organic compounds (NMVOC), and Sulphur dioxide (SO2).
What to Expect
You will receive a professional and friendly response to discuss and determine your GHG testing needs. This will be a call or a site meeting with one of our experts to discuss your requirements, sampling location and access. Once this has been determined our team will come out to your site and conduct the required testing.
