Workplace Hearing TestsAudiometry tests (hearing tests) help you to fulfil your legal responsibility to control and restrict excessive noise in the workplace. It is your duty of care to provide health surveillance to employees where necessary. Audiometry tests help to protect you and your co-workers from chronic hearing conditions, and you will receive expert technical advice and interpretation of the findings, along with cost effective and practical recommendations for solutions.

Noise-induced hearing loss is preventable. The presence of potentially hazardous noise levels in the workplace is often unavoidable but there are steps you can take to minimise the risk to yourself and your co-workers.

The Control of Noise at Work Regulations (2005) state “If the risk assessment indicates that there is a risk to the health of employees who are, or are liable to be, exposed to noise, the employer shall ensure that such employees are placed under suitable health surveillance, which shall include testing of their hearing.”

Audiometric tests determine your hearing levels by using and audiometer. These tests also measure the ability to discriminate between different sound intensities, recognise pitch, or distinguish speech from background noise.

Results of an Audiometry Test and subsequent investigations can be used to diagnose hearing loss or diseases of the ear.

What to expect

Envirocare’s fully trained technicians can provide you with on-site Audiometry Tests. The equipment and methods used will comply with the latest standards and guidelines.
Analysis of the findings will be provided to you in a confidential format, and employees requiring referral to an occupational health practitioner/GP are confidentially identified. A report containing anonymous data is also provided.
