About this opportunity

The Stack Emissions Technician will support the team leaders to plan and undertake accredited emissions testing campaigns. As a representative of Envirocare, the technician will visit industrial sites in the UK and abroad to perform testing in accordance with international standards and the Envirocare Quality Management System.

Quick career progression is available for the right candidate, with full on-site training provided and a structured pathway for personal and professional development within the MCERTS Training Programme (https://www.csagroup.org/en-gb/services/mcerts/). Salary will be regularly reviewed to reflect progression through the MCERTs training programme.

The technician will be expected to:

  • Present in a professional and courteous manner to both colleagues and customers;
  • Adopt safe behaviours and is encouraged to be proactive and vocal in this regard;
  • Adopt a positive can-do attitude and follow all reasonable instructions from the assigned Team Leader, Operations Manager or Director

The main responsibilities include;

  • Supporting the Team Leader during on-site monitoring
  • Travel to customers sites
  • Site inductions and participation in risk assessments
  • Access monitoring locations and setting up testing equipment
  • Operate test equipment to measure emission levels
  • Undertake sampling in accordance with prescribed procedure
  • Collate process information in relation to emissions monitoring
  • Interaction and communication with customers on site
  • Adherence to company and customer health and safety protocols
  • Calibration and maintenance of test equipment
  • Planning and preparation of test equipment
  • Preparation and shipment of samples to analysis laboratory
  • Maintain records in accordance with Quality Management System

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Interest in the Environment
  • A full driving license is essential as travel, including occasional overnight stays, will be required
  • Team player with a positive can-do attitude and willingness to learn and develop
  • Comfortable working outdoors and at heights
  • Attention to detail and a desire to provide excellent customer service
  • An environmental or science degree is beneficial but not essential
