UKAS MCERTS Accreditation

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service is the sole national accreditation body recognised by government to assess, against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services.

In June 2020 we added BS EN 14181:2014 Stationary Source Emissions – Quality assurance of automated measuring systems to our UKAS schedule.

UKAS Certificate

MCERTS is the Environment Agency’s Monitoring Certification Scheme. The scheme is used as framework for businesses to meet the regulator’s quality requirements.

MCERTS is highly respected in the world of stack emissions monitoring. The scheme offers accreditation for organisations and personnel and the use of accredited equipment, ensuring that the highest standards of monitoring are observed. Under the EPR, companies with A1, and more recently A2 permits are a mandatory requirement to have compliance sampling undertaken to the MCERTS performance standard.

What are the advantages of having MCERTS accredited monitoring?

  • Complete confidence in the quality of the monitoring work to be undertaken.
  • To satisfy the requirements of the regulating authority.
  • A reduced frequency of monitoring on account of increased Operator Monitoring Assessment (OMA) scores facilitated by MCERTS accredited monitoring.
